The Thames Nelson Flotilla

Launching JubilantThe Thames Nelson Flotilla is a faithful recreation of Lord Nelson's funeral procession on 8 January 1806. It involves up to 40 traditional oared craft, including HMS Victory's Cutter, the Jubilant, shallops and barges from the City livery companies, including the Royal Thames and Lady Mayoress, and Thames Cutters.

"Jubilant"During 2003 the Royal Barge Jubilant has been in operation for the first time since her launching and naming by the Duke of York the previous September. She has been helping some of the people she was deigned to benefit and giving them a lot of pleasure.

Barnet council helps disabled rowers on the Thames

A very unusual entry into the New Years Day Parade has been made by the London Borough of Barnet. Not known for its proximity to the Thames, Barnet has decided to acknowledge the importance of the river and has entered the newly built Royal Shallop “Jubilant”. She is a replica of the graceful 18th Century Navy Commissioners’ rowing barge on display in Somerset House.
